As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups.
- On Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, carries out sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Leonivka, Chernihiv region. More than 20 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar attacks, including Gremyach, Leonivka, Chernihiv region; Stepok, Grabovske, Popivka, Sumy region; Pletenivka, Kozacha Lopan, Chugunivka, Kharkiv region.
- On Kupyansk direction the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation in the Sinkivka and Ivanivka districts of the Kharkiv region. Here, the Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks by invaders. Also, the Russian occupiers carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Pishchane, Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements, in particular, Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Ivanivka of the Kharkiv region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
- On Lyman direction Defense forces repelled all enemy attacks near Nadia and Makiivka, Luhansk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Nevsky, Serebryansky Forestry of Luhansk Oblast; Siversk and Viymki of the Donetsk region. At the same time, about 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar attacks, among them Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Spirne, Siversk, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.
- On Bakhmut direction Ukrainian soldiers repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka settlements of the Donetsk region. Dilyivka, Donetsk region, was hit by an airstrike. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Markove, Bogdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdyumivka, New York of the Donetsk region.
- On Avdiivskyi direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Stepovoy, Avdiivka, Severnoy and Nevelskyi of the Donetsk region, where defense forces repelled 6 enemy attacks. More than 10 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.
- On Maryinsky direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful assaults with the support of aviation in Maryinka and Pobeda districts of the Donetsk region, where about 20 enemy attacks were repelled by the defense forces. About 10 settlements came under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers, in particular, Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maryinka, Kostyantynivka of the Donetsk region.
- On Mining direction the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation in the Staromayorsky area. Ukrainian soldiers repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Prechistivka, south of Zolota Niva, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, in particular, Vugledar, Zolota Niva, Urozhane, and Blagodatne of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
- On Zaporozhye direction Ukrainian soldiers repelled an enemy attack southeast of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements, including Gulyaipilske, Biloghirya, Robotine, Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire. In the Kherson direction, the occupiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Zmiivka, Berislav, Kozatske, and Mykilske settlements of the Kherson region. Zelenivka, Kherson region, was subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.
At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.
- During the past day, October 23, Russian terrorists attacked 9 Ukrainian regions. As a result of enemy shelling, twenty people were injured, bodies of victims of previous shelling were found.
