US Congressional committee summons Trump for Nov. 14 to testify about Capitol storming – Ukraine News, Politics

The Committee of the US Congress, which is investigating the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, sent the 45th President Donald Trump subpoena demanding to testify and provide documents to the committee. About it reports Reuters.

The committee said it had sent a subpoena to Trump demanding that documents be submitted by November 4 and that he would appear to testify on or about November 14.

Testimony to the Committee is given under oath and is legally equivalent to testimony in court. Testimony is often given behind closed doors but is videotaped and may then be released to the public as part of the Committee’s final report.

In a letter sent by the Committee to Trump, it said it had already gathered “irrefutable evidence, including from dozens of your former appointees and employees, that you personally organized and led a multi-component effort to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent a peaceful transition of power.”
