According to him, Excalibur is planned to be included in one of the future aid packages. These shells were not included in the latest aid tranche of $775 million.
Journalists note that this high-precision weapon will allow Ukrainians to hit dug-in Russian positions and command posts. Back in late April, Canada publicly announced the supply of Excalibur.
REFERENCE. Excalibur is a high-precision extended-range guided projectile. It has GPS guidance, the cost per unit is up to $70,000. They are used for artillery of the “NATO” 155-mm caliber, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 35+ km.
On tests in 2020, with the help of Excalibur, it was possible to hit a target at a distance of 70 km, reports Defense News. However, then the latest ERCA howitzer was used, which is only planned to be adopted by the US Army.
