VAKS will consider a claim for civil confiscation of the property of a DBR official


The higher anti-corruption court will consider the lawsuit for civil confiscation of the property of Andriy Chapchay, the deputy head of the State Bureau of Investigation, and his wife Yulia Apolonina, who is the prosecutor of the Vinnytsia Oblast Department of the Prosecutor’s Office.

Such a decision was made by VAX on August 2, “Word and Deed” reports.

According to the lawsuit, the deputy head of the 2nd department of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, and later the official of the SBI Andriy Chapchay and his wife, prosecutor Yulia Apolonina, acquired two apartments in Kyiv, a garden house on the outskirts of Vinnytsia, and a parking space in a residential complex. “French Quarter 2” with a total cost of UAH 7.7 million. At the same time, according to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, the couple did not have legal income to purchase this property. According to the collected evidence, the difference between the value of the assets and the legal income is UAH 7.12 million.

The SAP prosecutor filed an application to secure this claim. VAKS seized the above-mentioned property. Also, the anti-corruption court accepted a civil confiscation lawsuit and scheduled a preliminary hearing for September 1 at 10:00 a.m.

We will remind, VAKS confiscated almost UAH 2 million from a deputy from Dnipropetrovsk region. Earlier, SAP asked to confiscate the apartment of an official of the Lviv Customs.
