According to him, it is “vital” that all NATO countries spend 3% of GDP on defense, since the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine has become a “game changer”.

“Autocrats invest in weapons. They believe in the power of weapons. To protect our values and rule-based order, we also need to invest in weapons,” the diplomat said.

He noted that the number of troops should not be reduced, but increased, so as not to give “any incorrect interpretative signals regarding Russia.”

Reinsalu urged the West to supply Ukraine with more heavy weapons without “any political reservations.”

“We need to look at the Ukrainian victory. Then we will not be ashamed to look in the mirror,” the minister summed up.
