“We are preparing the ground for extending the global sanctions policy to all Russian propagandists, so-called opinion leaders and representatives of show business who support or justify terror,” he said.

The President said that the international working group on sanctions against Russia, chaired by Michael McFaul and Andrey Ermakprepared a roadmap of individual sanctions – “a basic list of all those involved in the dissemination of narratives, without which Russian terror is impossible.”

“We must clearly assess such an “informational and emotional” component of terror: the Russian army is losing and retreating on the battlefield, and therefore the results of terror against our civilian population and infrastructure are presented by Russian propaganda as a substitute for military victories,” Zelensky said.

He also recalled that various Russian newsmen and stars are involved in justifying the criminal attempt to annex Ukrainian territory and mobilize for a war against Ukraine.

“Absolutely all such persons should receive a full package of individual sanctions so that they can do nothing at all in the world. We are working on this,” the president said.

  • On October 17, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs announced additional sanctions against Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine and its attempted annexation of Ukrainian territories. The list includes propagandists and show business stars who support the aggression of the Russian Federation.
