Britain will hand over to Ukraine for the first time since the start of a full-scale war helicoptersstated Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace at a meeting with allies in Oslo. Ukraine will receive three Sea Kings military helicopters, the first of which has already arrived, write BBC.
Over the past six weeks, Ukrainian crews have been learning how to operate and maintain helicopters in Great Britain. Sea Kings will be able to be used for search and rescue operations.
Wallace also added that Ukraine will receive another 10,000 artillery shells from Britain, which will help Kyiv defend the liberated territories.
Sea King helicopters were previously used by the British Air Force and the Royal Navy. The last helicopter was decommissioned by the Navy in 2018.
Biden gave the corresponding mandate to the US Secretary of State to Anthony Blinken. $400 million will be allocated for defense items and services from the Pentagon, as well as military training.
The Biden administration asks Congress to allocate another $37.7 billion for aid to Ukraine in 2023.
Germany transferred Ukraine 40 million euros for humanitarian needs. The funds will help Ukrainians survive the winter.
