Zelensky on students going abroad for education: A fair decision is necessary | News of Ukraine

Date:

It is necessary to find a “fair solution” on the issue of students going abroad for education, the president said Vladimir Zelensky. In his opinion, the Ministry of Education should give students of non-mobilization age the opportunity to acquire knowledge abroad and bring it to Ukraine. The head of state stated this at the meeting with students of Mariupol State University.

He was asked about simplifying the procedure for students traveling abroad for the purpose of training and internships in order to acquire new knowledge and skills.

In response, Zelensky focused on the importance of avoiding factors that would create “psychological tension between the military at the front and civilians.”

According to the president, a “fair solution” needs to be found on the issue of traveling abroad.

“Separate programs for people of non-mobilization age, scientists for the development or acquisition of knowledge that Ukraine needs… I believe that the Ministry should work on and give you the opportunity to bring this knowledge to Ukraine,” he explained.

  • September 22, 2022, representative of the State Border Service Andrey Demchenko reported LIGA.net, that senior military leaders have canceled the ability of male students studying abroad to cross the Ukrainian border since September 14 due to widespread falsification of documents.

  • According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the President has not yet signed the law on lowering the mobilization age, since this is a “very sensitive issue,” when by decision you need to take responsibility for the fact that young people should go to the front.
