The card of the document says that the law was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada with the signature of the president.

Bill No. 8271 was voted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 13.

It increases the punishment of the military for violation of discipline. It also prohibits the courts from mitigating the punishment of the military for disobedience, non-execution of orders, threats to the chief or violence against him, desertion, unauthorized leaving of a military unit or battlefield.

The terms and fines for violations have been increased, and inspection by the military law enforcement service of reservists and those liable for military service for the fact of intoxication has been introduced.

On December 15, a petition was published asking Zelensky to veto the bill. It has already gained more than 25,000 votes per day (with 25,000 required for consideration).
