President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is counting on the continued support of Ukraine from the United States, regardless of who will occupy the White House after the 2024 elections.
The head of state made such a statement at the Reuters NEXT conference, it is reported Ukrainian truth.
Zelensky said that it is still unclear how the possible presidency of Donald Trump will affect Ukraine.
At the same time, he suggested that the position of the White House will depend on the requests of American society.
“I don’t know if it’s good or bad. I hope that the American president will always take into account the attitude of people and society. If the American society supports Ukraine, if we share the same values, problems, if we understand all these challenges and the result and damage of the war – I think that any president – I don’t know who it is – will help Ukraine.” – said the head of state.
We will remind that Trump recently refused to come to Ukraine at Zelensky’s invitation. The ex-president of the USA said that he made such a decision in order to allegedly prevent a “conflict of interests”.
It was previously reported that a year before the US presidential election, the Republican Trump is ahead of the current president Joe Biden in the ratings of support in five of the six most important states, the voting in which significantly affects the outcome of the election.
