President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Security Service of Ukraine and the Navy for the destruction of the Russian S-400 air defense system in the temporarily occupied Crimea on September 14.
He said this in an address following the results of the 568th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
“There is something to be especially noted about the Security Service of Ukraine, the entire composition of the service and our naval forces. I thank you for this triumph today. The air defense system of the occupiers on the land of our Crimea was destroyed. Very important.” – emphasized Zelensky.

Today, for the first time, our state celebrated Tankers’ Day. Awarded our tank soldiers with state awards. I thank all Ukrainian tankers! And it is very important that our tank troops are constantly progressing – they learn and use more and more advanced and modern tanks in battle. There will also be “Abrams” under the Ukrainian banner – we are constantly adding strength to our soldiers.
I would like to note the joint work of the head of the Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov, with the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, regarding such a new institution as the military ombudsman. This is really necessary. It is necessary to have a powerful system of human rights protection of soldiers in the defense sector itself.
I met today with representatives of the Ukrainian Jewish community – rabbis from different cities of Ukraine, with our soldiers. A very warm meeting on the eve of Rosh Hashanah.
Today, we have a good result in our cooperation with the International Criminal Court. A result that accurately approximates responsibility for Russian war crimes. The field office of the International Criminal Court has become operational in Ukraine, and it is the largest representation of the court outside The Hague.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, September 14, as a result of a missile attack in Crimea, the Russian air defense system S-400 “Triumph” worth 1.2 billion dollars was destroyed.
In addition, on the night of September 13, a naval factory in Sevastopol was attacked, as well as Russian ships in the Black Sea. The Main Directorate of Intelligence confirmed that a large amphibious ship and an enemy submarine were damaged as a result.
After that, OC “South” announced that the attack on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia in Sevastopol was only one of the elements of a major operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
