About this informs Representation of the President of Ukraine in ARC.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Solving Certain Issues of the Administrative and Territorial System of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.”
The relevant law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on August 23, the day of the third summit of the Crimean platform.
It is noted that the draft law was developed by the Representative Office together with the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
“After the law enters into force – the next day after its official publication, the decisions made by the parliament in 2016 and 2020 regarding decommunization and the introduction of a new district division of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea will be put into effect,” the publication says.
As explained in the Representation, the main purpose of the law is to prepare the ground for the de-occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula temporarily controlled by the Russian invaders, since “military and military-civilian administrations are created to operate on the territory of territorial communities.”
The law also instructs the Cabinet of Ministers to determine the territories and administrative centers of territorial communities in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea within 1 month.
In addition, the government must within 3 months create district state administrations (RDAs) of new districts, as well as submit to the parliament a draft law on the specifics of the restoration of public power in Crimea after the liberation.
“We are sure that this step is very important on the way to de-occupation and post-war reconstruction of the Crimean Peninsula,” the Representation emphasized.
- On September 2, it became known that a Ukrainian startup created a project to accelerate the appearance of the Crimean Tatar language in mobile services.
