Office of the President

Since the beginning of the day, on October 22, the Russian occupiers have fired 36 missiles at Ukraine, most of them were shot down by air defense forces.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this in Telegram.

“The aggressor continues to terrorize our country. At night, the enemy launched a massive attack: 36 rockets, most of which were shot down. Thanks to all air defense services for their work. To all the energy and services that are working now at the places of impact and restoring our infrastructure. You are our heroes”– wrote the Ukrainian leader.

At the same time, the president published a photo of the consequences of the Russian attack on one of the energy facilities.

“The photo shows just one example of how the enemy is trying to break us. These are vile strikes on critically important objects. Typical tactics of terrorists. The world can and must stop this terror”– emphasized Zelensky.

We will remind that this morning a large-scale air alert was announced over Ukraine. Russia massively attacked Ukrainian cities with missiles. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Lviv regions and in Lutsk. In some regional centers, electricity and water have partially disappeared.

We previously reported that the scale of destruction from today’s strikes may exceed the consequences of the October 10-12 attack.

The OPU also said how many Ukrainians were left without electricity by Russian missile strikes.

Later it became known that the Russians completely destroyed one of the energy facilities in Lutsk with rockets.
